Have you ever heard, eaten or seen sprouts? Maybe in recipes, videos, raw food blogs, etc? Are you unsure how they look and taste? You may have seen them before, but maybe you weren't sure what those cool, weird-looking greens were. Well if you haven't yet, you may find this post very interesting. Please continue reading to learn about the health benefits of sprouts.
Alfalfa sprouts are the most epic sprouts!
The Health Benefits of Sprouts & Sprouting:
So, what exactly
are sprouts, and how do they taste? Sprouts, also known as micro-greens, are one of the most nutrient-rich foods (greens) that you can put into your body. They have numerous health benefits; making them a superfood! Sprouts come in different varieties, such as alfalfa, radish, broccoli, clover, beans, and soybeans. Sprouts are great in protein, rich in essential nutrients such as iron, phorosporous, magnesium, potassium, manganese, and calcium. They are great for bone strength, too.
i love it how alfalfa sprouts look like spaghetti! Isn't that cool n' epic?! Be sure to buy ORGANIC & NON-GMO SPROUTS!! The Sproutman are great; organic and non-GMO, baby!
Sprouts are one of the most nutrient-rich greens on this planet that you could possibly put in your body. They also contain dietary fiber, folate, omega 3 fatty acids, rich in essential nutrients such as vitamin A, C, B1, B6, and K. They are a brain food! They keep you focused and more sharper. Eating sprouts daily keeps you healthy, happy, looking younger, fit, and strong. They are also anti-aging! Sprouts boosts your energy, helps with weight loss, high in chlorophyll and high in fiber. Micro-greens makes a great pre and post workout meal (yes, they make a great meal as they help to keep you feeling fuller longer). They make a great snack. Sprouting allows the beneficial nutrients to spread and become higher. For example, bean sprouts have an increased amount of vitamins A by 8 times after being sprouted. By saying this, this makes the sprouts an excellent source of enzymes and easy to digest. As you may know already the importance of soaking nuts, seeds and oats - you can already assume, it is as important for sprouts as well.
The cool part about these epic greens are that you can grow your own at home! (Be sure to buy organic, non-GMO seeds! Very important because non-organic alfalfa sprouts are genetically modified!) You really don't need a garden to grow sprouts. They can grow comfortably in yor kitchen! I would love to actually grow my own sprouts, and I promise
to share my first sprouting experience with you guys on my blogs. I found this cool, epic website that gives you directions for sprouting alfalfa and other stuff like nuts and seeds. I think it will be really fun actually to see these micro-greens grow little by little. Most raw vegans have grown their own sprouts too - and I encourage YOU to grow your own sprouts as well. It's easy, fun and delicious!

Like I mentioned in the beginning of this post, there are different varieties of sprouts that you can grow. All the sprouts are really epic, but alfalfa sprouts are one of the most nutritious sprouts out of all the sprouts, actually. They are tasty, epic, delicious and crunchy - especially the bean sprouts. You can add the sprouts to pretty much anything (besides desserts). They make make an excellent addition to salads, soups, veggie burgers, pizza, inside veggie and nori rolls, pasta, and so much more! When they are added into soups, they turn into spaghetti noodles. It's kinda cool, yo!
So, eat up your micro-greens. But make sure you hurry up cause they don't last very long. They stay fresh in your fridge for 3 days - THAT'S IT! (I know, it's such a shame they don't last very long). Okay, they may taste epic and all, BUT - I must warn you, you will regret leaving them in the fridge for a week or more than 3 days. The longer you leave them in the fridge, THEY WILL GO SOUR! No. Like really sour. So sour that you may have to compost it. (i'm not exaggerating either, folks. This is real life). So I suggest you don't forget about them and eat them within 3 days. Things taste will go wrong! Actually, by the third day, you can tell that they are not going to last another day. They become too watery, stinky & sour! So, don't expect them to last long! They may give and provide YOU with longevity, THEY will be the ones to go sneaky on you. So watch out (how rude? Haha).
I really hope you enjoyed reading this post. I hope I made you realized how epic micro-green sprouts are after all. Please feel free to comment, share your thoughts & ask me any questions in the comment box below. I hope
